Costa Rica: Honors Study Abroad

On Spring 2024, I had the opportunity to study abroad to Costa Rica with the Honors College. This was an uforgettable experience where I got to connected with the world, learn about new culture and have an international experience during my time at IU Indianapolis.

Mission

The mission of this Study Abroad was to not only develop an international experience but also to understand how Costa Rica implements ecotourism and susteinability into their daily activities.

Growth/Skills

Studying abroad in Costa Rica, focusing on ecotourism and sustainability, allowed me to develop critical growth skills such as adaptability, problem-solving, and analytical thinking. Immersing myself in a new environment challenged me to navigate cultural differences, assess sustainable business practices, and understand the balance between economic growth and environmental responsibility. These experiences sharpened my ability to evaluate data, consider multiple perspectives, and make informed decisions—key skills for a Business Analyst. Understanding how sustainable practices impact businesses also strengthened my strategic thinking, preparing me to analyze and implement innovative solutions in the corporate world.
